As an entrepreneur and philanthropist, Temitope Isaac Olowolafe emphasizes the importance of inclusivity and diversity in the corporate world. He is the president of Dream Maker, Inc., an asset-management firm based in Toronto. In an effort to end anti-black systemic racism in Canada, Temitope Isaac Olowolafe has joined the BlackNorth initiative with other black business leaders and is pushing forward a plan to set up a Black Business Development Hub.

As a part of their initiative to support the Black community, BlackNorth is working on a Black Business Development Hub that will help promote Black entrepreneurship and spur the growth and success of small businesses. By doing so, BlackNorth hopes to provide ample opportunities for homeownership in the Black community.

As a hallmark of wealth creation, home ownership is the ultimate goal behind the Black Business Development Hub. With access to a supportive environment for entrepreneurship, Black entrepreneurs can accumulate wealth that can be used to acquire property, thereby cementing their financial freedom and prosperity.

A Look at the Black Innovation Fellowship

Based in Toronto, Temitope Isaac Olowolafe is the founder of Dream Maker Inc. In partnership with Ryerson DMZ, Temitope Isaac Olowolafe helped to launch the Black Innovation Fellowship in order to help Black entrepreneurs achieve success.

The fellowship is the part of DMZ’s Black Innovation Programs, which is designed to help Black entrepreneurs in the tech industry to overcome systemic obstacles that can prevent them from excelling. Applicants can apply to each program individually, or they can run through the entire course from start to finish, which includes Launchpad, Bootcamp, and Fellowship. The fellowship, which is the first of its kind, aims to provide an incubator network for Black start-ups that can provide mentorship, industry connections, capital, and other elements for success.

The eight- to twelve-month program aids early-stage start-ups in achieving product market fit and developing a sales strategy. It will give the start-up hands-on support in refining their products, developing successful teams, and building effective marketing strategies.
